Montréal Culture Libre
Una delle città in mostra all’interno del progetto Metamorfosi Urbane 2009 al Festival della Creatività (Firenze 15-18 ottobre) è Montréal che è attiva su interessanti progetti di arte pubblica che stanno trasformando la città grazie al lavoro di alcune importanti istituzioni come in CIAC (Centro Internazionale di Arte Contemporanea) che ha realizzato diversi progetti artistici e la Biennale di Montréal.
La Biennale 2009 ha presentato lavori artistici sviluppati per lo spazio urbano e per la comunità sotto il titolo Culture Libre (ispirato dalla open source informatica). I progetti sono differenti: dalle arti visive ad installazioni acustiche con l’obiettivo comune di coinvolgere la comunità e di trovare nuovi modi di vivere la città.
Anche l’organizzazione Dare-dare (velocemente), supporta la ricerca e valorizza le pratiche emergenti nel contesto della creazione rispondendo così al bisogno di scambio e collaborazione. Usando un camper come laboratorio mobile per muoversi da un isolato all’altro della città DARE-DARE realizza progetti innovativi che investono lo spazio delle gallerie, lo spazio urbano o qualsiasi altro contesto.
La dimensione urbana e lo scambio con la comunità sono dei temi investigati anche dall’artista Raphaelle de Groot con lavori quali: Collecte de poussière, 2000-2001 e l’intervento nel quartiere del Vieux Montréal. Raphaelle descrive così il suo lavoro: “essere un’artista vuol dire esperire i limiti. Scuotere l’idea di una realtà statica, rompere i percorsi fissati e lavorare in un movimento che cerca il disorientamento e accetta il disagio”

One of the cities exhibited inside the project Metamorfosi Urbane 2009 during Festival della Creatività (Florence 15-18 october) is Montréal which is working on some interesting projects of public art, which are transforming the city thanks to the work of some important institutions such as the CIAC which has realised many artistic projects and the Biennale of Montréal. The Biennale 2009 presented artworks developed for the urban space and for the community under the title Culture Libre (inspired by the computer open source ). There are different projects: from the visual arts to the acoustic installations with the common aim to involve the community and to find new ways to live the city.
Also the organisation Dare-Dare (which means quickly), supports research and valorises emerging practices in the context of creation answering the need of exchange and collaboration.
Using a caravan as a mobile lab to move from a block to another of the city DARE-DARE realizes innovative projects which invest the gallery’s space, the urban space or any other context.
The urban dimension and the exchange with the community are themes investigated also by the artist Raphaelle de Groot, with works such as Collecte de poussière, 2000-2001 and the intervention in the Vieux Montreal district.
